The Health Benefits of Chocolate Isn’t New!

Today we hear about the health benefits of dark chocolate; mostly from antioxidants and occasionally the essential minerals associated with them. The Aztecs also believed there was more to chocolate than just simple nourishment.

As well, when chocolate entered Europe, it did so around the same time as tea and coffee, and with the same mindset. Many believed chocolate was a medicine, able to heal the many ailments of the day back in the 16th and 17th Century.
