Afraid your chocolate will melt? Me too! If you live where temperatures exceed 25 Celsius (77 Fahrenheit), I will pack your order with proper heat deterring packaging for free if deemed necessary by me. I may request you delay your shipment if temperatures are too high. If you have any questions, concerns, or shipping requests, please contact me.

FAQ’s
+ Where is Bean To Bar World based?
Greater Toronto Area, Canada.
+ Can I pick up my order in person?
Not at the moment. Stay tuned!
+ Where do you ship?
For online shop orders
I ship across Canada, United States, and to many other countries (see list above for countries I shop or cannot ship).
If you would like to know If I can ship to your country, please inquire.
For tasting kits
I generally only ship to Canada & USA addresses due to the time sensitive nature of the tasting, and the delays which may occur at customs when arriving at other countries. There are som exceptions with enough lead time. Feel free to inquire.
However, if you still wish to partake in the live virtual tastings, and if all kits can be delivered to one address in your country, I will be happy to look into it and see if it is feasible. Please contact me if this is the case.
+ Do I have to pay custom duties?
For USA
No, not if your online shop order is under $800 CAD
For Other Countries
You may have to pay duties/taxes as for any imported goods.
+ I live in a hot climate, will you ship here?
I will, but conditions may apply. There are ways to reduce the risk of melted or bloomed chocolate when shipping to regions with high temperatures.
"High Temperatures" is defined as a daily high of over 25°C or 77°F.
I currently have a very high success rate (99%) of products arriving in great condition, including shipments to warm locations in Australia, The Middle East, California, Arizoa, Florida, etc.
I do my best to pack and ship the chocolate bars or kits so that they will arrive in great condition. If needed, I may wrap it in reflective bubble wrap and possibly add a gel pack at no extra cost to you.
Please feel free to make a note at checkout to remind me that your location is quite warm!
+ Why is there a chance my bars may melt?
There are many factors out of my control such as:
- The shipping method you choose (standard vs expedited)
- Where you are located and how long it takes to arrive
- How the couriers handle your package (does it sit in a hot warehouse or van overnight)
- How long it sits in customs (if applicable) and how they handle your package
Due to all these factors I cannot control, Bean To Bar World cannot guarantee your products will arrive in the chocolate's ideal condition.
Unfortunately there are no refunds at this time if products have melted or bloomed.
There are many fine chocolate sellers or makers who won't ship to hot climates, period. I understand why, and they can't afford to reiumburse everytime bars melt (especially since much of the journey is out of their control). However, I have foud it is possible to ship to hot climates with great success. The only caveat is that you (the customer) take the risk for this.
For tasting kits
If you are ordering the sample pack tasting kits (not the full bar kits) for the virtual chocolate tastings, then melting is not much of an issue. For the purpose of our tasting, the chocolates can still be enjoyed if they are melted or were melted. Therefore, even if the samples to addrive melted or bloomed, you can still enjoy them and take part in the tasting! Contact me if you have questions about this.
+ What if my chocolate melted?
If this occured, do not assume they still can't be enjoyed. Although fine chocolate is often intended to be eaten as a solid well-tempered bar, it doesn't always have to be.
There are many ways to still enjoy our chocolate, both in melted or untempered form. This includes
- Eating it melted instead of solid. You can still go through a similar tasting method as listed here, aside from "snap" of course.
- Using it to create a beautiful drinking chocolate
- Bake with it!
If you have more questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
+ The free shipping isn't showing up.
Here are some reasons you may not see free shipping.
- Your total has to be over the minimum before taxex and discounts.
- Coupon/discount codes may impact this minimum amount.
- Click on the service you want. For instance, Expedited may show up with a cost on the list, but when you click on it, it will show up as free on your total (if your total before taxes is over the free threshold).
+ How long does shipping take?
Online shop orders
Packing time: 1-2 business days after receiving the order
Shipping time: Depends on your choice of shipping method. See chart above for estimate
Tasting Kit orders
Packing time: Once payment and final guest list is received, kits will be packed fresh, and shipped out. This usually requires a two week window. Depending on the size of your order, location, adn time of year, it could be as quick as one week turn around or a few weeks to a month (for orders of 50 to 200 kits for instance)
Again, this depends on many factors. I will iron out these details with you after you book, or feel free to ask before booking.
+ How does shipping work?
For products in the online shop
You select your method of shipment during checkout, allow for a couple days to pack the order, and then you will receive a tracking link once the order is scanned by the courier.
For tasting kits
I will discuss with you your shipping options after I receive your reservation. I will also let you know of the deadlines I require the payment, and the shipping information & addresses.
+ Do your shipments come with a tracking number?
Yes, all orders whether through the online shop or your tasting kits will come with a tracking link. Ensure you provide me with the correct email address or you will not receive a tracking email.
More Shipping Details
Bean To Bar World ships worldwide
However, shipping worldwide can incur errors on behalf of the courier, customs, or the customer.
Shipping Dates
Although I do my best to coordinate shipping time estimates with my shipping carriers, I can not and will not guarantee any shipment date or time. The customer will receive a tracking number after the order has shipped, and it it will be up to the customer to follow through with any shipping issues.
If you do want faster service, please choose expedited. If you want even faster service, I can arrange for express shipping at an extra cost to your total. Please contact me in this case.
Inaccurate shipping information
It is up to you to include the exact and correct shipping address including all information such as apartment number and postal code. If possible, also include buzzer code and other helpful delivery information.
If a shipment was sent to an incorrect or incomplete address due to error on the customers end, I will do my best to help the customer intercept and fix the issue, but I cannot guarantee the shipment will arrive on time or arrive at all. This will depend on the carrier and how they decide to resolve it.
If it so happens that the information you provided was incorrect, and the shipment does not arrive on time or arrive at all, then the customer will not receive any refund or store credit in this case. Small business can’t afford to absorb such costs, since we do not have the same margins, shipping rates, or costs other large online retailers have.
Shipping & Weather
Your order may be postponed if there is concern the chocolates will not arrive in optimal condition due to weather conditions such as high temperatures where the order is shipped from or shipped to. You will be notified if we suggest your order to postponed. I will do my best to wrap and keep the package cool. Please consider using the fastest shipping method if your daily high is 25C/77F or higher.
You take it upon yourself to order chocolate at your own risk. I will do my best to alert you of potential high temperatures during shipping that may melt or interfere with the quality of the chocolate. However, if you prefer to not postpone your order, and take the risk, then Bean To Bar World will not be held responsible for products that arrive out of temper, especially after an alert by Bean To Bar World before the order is shipped.
Customs
I will include the proper customs information and codes necessary to get the chocolate to your country of origin. Some countries are more strict in regards to releasing chocolate. Countries in Europe, USA, Australia, Asia tend to have no issues. Customs in regions such as Central or South America do tend to be more strict.
Keep in mind customs may delay orders. This beyond my control, or the control of the courier. This may extend beyond the estimated date of delivery. There is nothing we can do if your order is delayed due to customs.
Re-Shipping Your Order
If you plan to re-ship your order to another address or country, the responsibility is on you.
For instance, if you enter a USA address for your product to ship to in the online shop checkout with the intention to ship it yourself (or have a friend ship it) to a country in South America, then it is up to you to arrange and deal with the shipment at that point. Bean To Bar World will only take responsibility for the shipping done so through this website.
You may contact me for details that may help you get your order through customs, but I can only offer you what I have. The responsibility is on you in this case.
