Metiisto Chocolate was birthed in Sweden, but is now re-located in Australia. Since being based in Australia, it made sense to support cacao growing regions closer to where they make the chocolate, and so their cacao origins come from countries such as Indonesia and Solomon Islands in the South Pacific.
Metiisto is a cozy family-run establishment, but producing anything but “homey” chocolate. Both the flavours and the packaging are both elegant and sophisticated. The care and skill that goes into making Metiisto chocolate is certainly underrated, but not underappreciated by those who understand what fine chocolate is all about.
Metiisto’s chocolate is as smooth and silk, so if you are finicky about texture and like your chocolate to be very smooth, Metiisto chocolate great example of this.
Their single-origin dark bars tend to have some punch to them in regards to flavour. Certainty not bitter, but not subtle either. I may describe them as sharp and pronounced.
