Baby Cacao Trees

Well, not trees exactly. These are what would have been cacao trees had these seeds germinated instead of ended up in a chocolate bar.

These are the germ or embryo of what would have been a new cacao tree. These are found on one end of the cacao bean. If you have a whole cacao bean, you can open it up and find this tiny skinny long brown bit.
