Getting Started
It’s overwhelming for some to know where to get started when making your own craft chocolate from bean to bar. This is precisely why I created this resource for you. Even though you may be excited to delve into it, I encourage you to take your time. Also, do not worry about making mistakes. One cannot learn to make chocolate perfectly with only a few attempts, just as one cannot make great bread or pastries right off the bat. It takes patience, knowledge, and persistence.
Welcome!
Where to start
1. Click on “concise overview” in the menu and have a read through.
2. The key to good chocolate is high quality cocoa beans. Click on “Sourcing Cacao” to locate a distributor or grower near you. If you can’t find a supplier near you, don’t hesitate to reach out to me and see if I can find it for you. I’m always happy to locate more sources of fine cacao around the world.
3. Browse through all the other menu topics such as sourcing equipment, and so on. Take your time with it. And reach out if you have questions.
4. Consider booking a private tutoring lesson. These are live online video chats, not recorded. You can ask questions, fill in the gaps, and get quick immediate answers to your chocolate making concerns.
