All dark chocolate is by default 100% plant-based and dairy free. You may include requests such as no dairy, no nuts, no gluten, no alcohol, etc. However, I cannot guarantee no traces of the above mentioned since most chocolate is made in small-batch kitchens. If you still have questions, please contact me.
Also feel free to make requests for flavours you hope to have or flavours you wish not to include, and I can do my best to accommodate some of those requests.
Some requests can apply to specific kits or to all kits.
If you are ordering kits for larger groups, feel free to request when you book about any possible discounts on kits or shipping on your order, and I will review the order and see what I can do.
Don't see what you're looking for? No problem! Contact me and let me know precisely what you are looking for (theme, kit, pricing) and I can see what I can come up with. I'm happy to accommodate if I can.

Coming Soon.
Available in 10 piece sampler, 16 piece sampler, or full bar kit.
There is a great deal of information floating around regarding cacao and chocolate, and potential health benefits. I have spent years reading research regarding these topics.
In this tasting, we will enjoy and analyze various fine chocolates, peppered with lots of information on nutritional aspects, potential health benefits, and other interesting facts about your beloved food.
There will be lots of room for Q&A as well, and we will clarify any myths regarding chocolate!
**Available in 10 Piece or full bar kit. **
Sample kits will include a range of cacao, single-origin dark chocolate, single-origin milk chocolate, and flavoured bar samples which focus on what some may say are more unusual flavours and/or ingredients. Some examples might be onion, kelp, sheep milk, palo santo, and single-origins with out of the ordinary aroma profiles.
The Zoom session will briefly go over the history of chocolate flavour, and then focus on tasting and chocolate neurogastronomy. We will look into why these flavours are weird to us today, and how our view on what the flavour of chocolate should be has evolved through the ages. And offer some insight into our perception of chocolate today vs yesterday vs what's to come in the future!
Available in 10 piece sampler, 16 piece sampler, or full bar kit.
Since there is a great deal of information to cover in my tastings, I don't always get a chance to go into the details of the people behind your wonderful chocolate.
One of the great things of the craft bean-to-bar industry, is most brands have a face behind the company, and in some cases a faces connected to where the cacao comes from.
In this tasting, we will spend time on each bar analyzing the flavour, but also going into detail about who the maker is, their values, and information on the growers and farmers where applicable.
We will discuss the people behind your chocolate, and touch on topics such as fair-trade, sustainable business models, ethics of growing cacao, and more.
Available in sampler or full bar kits
You will receive loose leaf fine tea in tea bags, and they can be prepared in the method of your choice. Teas may include black, oolong, white, and flavoured such as Earl Grey.
The tasting will first revolve around analyzing the chocolates on their own, and then we will try the chocolates again with the tea to explore how our perception of the flavour transforms.
The samples come in duplicates. For example, the 10 piece kit comes with 5 chocolate samples we will analyze on their own, and then the same 5 samples we will analyze with the teas. Kits come with 3 looseleaf teas (unsealed teabag included).
Available in sampler or full bar kits
You will receive various high quality dried fruits. They may include fruits such as dried plum, fig, apricot, berries, and more.

In this pairing, we will analyze chocolates in ways which alter our perception of them by interfering with our own sense of taste.
We will analyze the range of chocolate sampels first. Then we will eat or drink various food ingredients before trying the chocolates again. We will play around with our sense of sweetness, bitterness, and saltiness.
It's a fun way to pereceive and analyze the change in flavour of the chocolate while momentarily altering our sense of taste.
Although the kit includes products you can purchase in the grocery or herbal store, one dried herb in this pairing is not for children, pregnant women, or those with diabetes or on insulin medication. For more details, please contact me.
Cost is reflective of tasting kits.
For these tastings, I send you the chocolate samples, but you or your guests are responsible for the drink(s) or foods. These tastings are great if you have a nice collection of wines, spirits, or even cheeses that you love, and wish to learn how they pair with chocolate.
You will receive various high quality chocolate samples or bars (depending on your kit). The chocolate samples will come in pairs: one to analyze on its own, and the other to pair. Optional add-on samples also come in pairs.
The tasting will first revolve around analyzing the chocolates on their own, and then we will try the chocolates again with what you will be pairing it with to explore how our perception of the flavour transforms.
If you are unsure which drinks or foods to choose, please, contact me and I would be happy to arrange that for you! Book your date, and we will iron out the details together. Generally, you tell me what drinks/foods you have, and I will find chocolates that will pair with them. Otherwise, ask me which wines, spirits, cheeses or such you should have for you and your guests, and I will help you find the perfect arrangement.
This can be added to a full-bar kit as an additional bar for the tasting, or to a sampler kit as a nice takeaway.
Add as many as you like per kit. It is a great way for your guests to continue enjoying chocolate and also apply what they learned in the tasting.
Bars will be selected according to any dietary restrctions (example: no dairy). Not everyone may get the same chocolate bar, and the bar received may not be the same as one of the samples in the kit. A popular choice is one single origin dark chocolate, and one milk or flavoured dark chocolate.
If you want specific brands included, you may inquire, but this is subject to an extra charge depending on the brand you prefer, and may not be able to accomodate depending on stock levels.
A Takeaway
This can be a great momento after the tasting concludes. It contains a wonderful poem on one side (Written by Geoseph) and a beautiful flavour wheel on the other. The flavour wheel is a great tool to help one articulate the flavours they experience in fine dark chocolate.
They are printed on thick Mohawk Superfine card paper, with a wonderful texture and clean finish.
*Your kit will include a flavour tree printed on the handout (a similar tool to a flavour wheel) to help the guests analyze the flavour. This keepsake would be an additional upgrade. *

This will be incorporated into the tasting, and is a great way for people to experience the tast of the fruit of the cacao!
Chocolate is made from the seeds of the cacao, but the seeds are covered by a sweet tart fruit. It tates nothing like chocolate. A fun addition while we explore what chocolate is all about.

Perhaps you want the 10 piece kit, but with 1 or 2 more samples. Or perhaps the 15 sample kit just isn't enough. You can even add a few sample sized additions to your full bar kit to add a bit more variety without the additional cost of more full bars.
Each sample is an additional $2 per sample per kit. You may just ask for more samples, and I choose the best ones, or you may request what samples you prefer (Although I can't always guarantee I can add them depending on stock levels and cost).
Depending on available stock and lead time, there is the option of adding delicious single-origin hot chocolate mixes all of which are dairy-free, vegan, gluten-free, nut-free. Many are in the $10-11 range, which larger packages being $16-20+. Check out my online shop for possible options.
Depending on available stock and lead time, there is the option of adding incredible chocolate hazelnut spreads (AKA gianduja). This makes nutella taste mediocre at best - and uses only real ingredients. Dairy-free and dairy options available.
Depends on group size, shipping location, and shipping type. Generally, can be same week small orders (< 10 kits), 2-3 weeks for 20-50 kits, and 4+ weeks for larger orders. If you have a more last minute order, please don’t hesitate to contact me to see if I can make it happen!
You will receive and e-invoice with all the details of your event, shipping, and kits.
Upon reviewing the invoice, you may pay via a secure payment processor using credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.
I do not do bank transfers or cheque. I prefer credit card, especially with the way the e-invoice works. It allows for more flexibility if your numbers change.
Although you will not receive any hard copy invoice in the mail, I will still require a billing address for the e-invoice. You can include this when you book, or I can collect it from you later if you wish.
You may within reason. This is easier before you have paid or before the kits have been shipped out.
If you are booking now, and not 100% sure on the date or time, that's okay with me! We will work it out.
If for whatever reason there is an issue with shipping or something on your end, the event can be postponed and the chocolate will still be great if kept in a cool place away from heat sources. Contact me right away if this applies to you.
At Bean To Bar World, we focus only on fine cacao and fine cacao products. This means that all the chocolate (including plain dark chocolate) tastes different than your standard commercial chocolate. There is more depth in flavour, and way more variety in flavour! The plain dark chocolates will have notes of berry, nuts, or cookies, without any added ingredients! Those flavours come from the fine cacao and how it was processed.
The dark chocolate only contains cacao beans and sugar.
The flavoured chocolates may contain dairy, fruits, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, etc. You have the option to opt out or opt in on ingredients you may not want or want more of!
All products come from cacao that is fairly traded, even if not certified. The focus of Bean To Bar World is to highlight makers who use high quality cacao, which is also fairly traded. Many of the products use organic cacao when possible.
Most of the products will be plant-based or vegan. I will include a few dairy based chocolates unless you request not to have any.
I cannot guarantee that all products are nut/dairy/allergen free. Since I don't manufacture all the products, I cannot say one way or the other. Some makers have "may contain traces of" on their bars. Please inquire if you have any concerns. However, I will never guarantee any product is completely nut/dairy/allergen free. You can request not to have products that contain dairy/nuts/etc., but the ones that do not, may contain trace elements of such allergens.
It doesn't hurt to ask. Sometimes I get new requests I have not thought of, and they work out great. Sometimes I cannot.
I have a certain way of conducting my tasting, so I can only compromise within reason. However, feel free to ask and I can see what I can do.
