Dart Frog Bonbons?
Years ago, I worked at a chocolate shop where I was able to design all my own bonbons. This is one of them. One of my coworkers said that this mold shape looked like a frog face. I agreed. So I played around with it. I splattered some black markings, and sprayed them all sorts of colours that you may find in various dark frogs. Lo and behold, I created the worlds first dart frog bonbons! I can’t remember now what we filled them with, but I think it was caramels. Either way, they were a hit. Simple to make, yet a big impact on the smiles of our customers.
Nowadays I prefer not to use coloured cocoa butter to coat and colour my bonbons but I can appreciate the fun of using it! You can find a research post about about these colouring agents found in all sorts of foods here.
