Cacao Fruit Pulp
100% Pure Cacao Fruit Puree. Product Of Ecuador.
Bean To Bar World presents pure 100% cacao fruit puree. The seeds that we use to make chocolate are surrounded by a fruit. This fruit is edible, and quite delicious. The fruit is used to ferment the beans, but the fruit can also be harvested to eat. Some cacao producers remove some of the fruit or juice before fermenting the beans. This cacao fruit pulp has no water or anything added. Everything you taste is from the cacao fruit itself. There are many ways to eat cacao fruit puree:
Enjoy it as is
Mix it with water or sparkling water to enjoy a refreshing drink (1 pack of puree, and half the amount in water, or more to your liking)
Enjoy it anywhere you would add apple sauce (fruit bowls, porridge, grain bowls etc.)
Pour it over yogurt your ice cream
Use it to make a cocktail
Pour it over frozen fruit for a healthy snack
What does it taste like?
Nothing like chocolate! It’s very fruity, tropical, naturally sweet, and tart. If you have had cacao fruit before, it may taste different. Each variety of cacao produces fruit that may taste slightly or very different. Some fruits made from high quality cacao will have fruity, tropical, floral, and other flavours to them. Cacao fruit from lower quality commercial grade cacao may be more bland and sour. The cacao fruit in this product is grown in Ecuador, and has a wonderful fruity flavour that is naturally sweet and slightly tart.
How do I keep it?
It does not need to be refrigerated if unopened, but do refrigerate after opening. It can be enjoyed room temperature or chilled.

Why is there a brown or dark colour in my puree?
This is pure natural 100% cacao fruit puree with absolutely no preservatives. The tiny bit of air in the package oxidizes the top portion of the fruit exposed to the air, and darkens the colour of the fruit slightly. This is perfectly fine to eat, and does not impact the flavour or quality of the product. The product has also been pasteurized.
Why doesn’t it taste like chocolate?
Chocolate is made from the seed of the cacao fruit, not the fruit itself. For instance, cashews grow from a fruit as well, and the fruit does not taste like the cashew nut. The cocoa beans we use to make chocolate are the seed, and have their own characteristics and taste, different than the fruit.
